I see a unique piano voice demonstrated here with influences ranging from the stride-blues masters of the 30’s right up to a little bit of McCoy Tyner + Keith Emerson. :)
Hey, thanks, Perry! And you pretty much nailed it, insofar as the influences. My dad played a lot of stride (and classic ragtime, as well), so I pretty much grew up with it. Later on in life, both McCoy & ELP were considerable influences. Thanks for noticing. :)
Thanks, Zumpoems. I read your George Harrison post last night & am following you now. I mentioned on my Billy’s Blues post that I’ll be singing the wild lyrics to Bubbles Taboo next Friday. There’s a great acoustic chamber where that Baldwin grand sits, and I won’t even need a microphone. So I’ll give myself a week to whip the ol’ voice into shape & we’ll see what happens. Glad to connect.
Wow! Great stuff.

High quality original composition! Love the bluesiness embedded throughout and the stride elements.
