Together in Turmoil

Strains of mine you may have heard elsewhere infiltrate the famous Turtles tune by Garry Bonner and Alan Gorden. Andy Pope at the Baldwin grand, November 29, 2018.

A little bit goes a long, long way.

  1. Ooh, liked the ‘Happy Together’ theme mixed in there. Is this on Exile? I want to buy five copies of your album on CD, but could you send them to five different addresses?

Yes, I’ve added it to Exile to fill out the twelve songs I wanted along this theme. If you can leave me the five addresses on my contact form, I’ll get back to you with details. I really appreciate your support, Amaya. God bless you.

Thanks, Ken! Glad you enjoyed it.

  2. Great job Andy!

Yes, the improvising around the Turtle’s “Happy Together” was quite impressive. I like to listen to these posts both by watching you + also by just listening without watching. When I just listen I’m amazed at the virtuosity.

I’d love the CD with this tune + will e-mail you my address + will send in another donation :)

Thanks, Perry! I did get your email & will send a hard copy Exile CD soon.

On a side note, I’ve also noticed that when I just listen to the sound clips without having to look at the guy playing, it focus my senses more on the substance of the music. Something about the visuals detracts from the actual sound. It sort of “splits the senses” — if that makes sense.

Anyway, this is all new to me, so I’m still in the process of trying to put my piano stuff into the most palatable form possible. I greatly appreciate your feedback and support.

I wish I understood the depth of what the music wanted me to convey. However, I totally admire and am in awe with the beauty of your art. It’s beautiful to listen to.

Well thank you, Lavanya. For me, I succeed as an Artist if one appreciates my contribution, without having to understand it. Music is vast and ineffable. Nobody really fully understands it, least of all myself. I’m happy to offer what I can.
