I agree. It’s beyond gorgeous. Possibly, there are two versions set to the same lyrics. But that wouldn’t explain why I can’t find the other version in a hymnal.

Thanks Gary. I have learned that the song actually has many titles with many different sets of lyrics. But they all stem from a single, one-word title in another language.

Hi Susan. Actually this only one of several names of hymns that use the same music. In addition, there are a number of secular folk songs using this music as well. But they all stem from a piece with an unusual single word title. It has so far been correctly identified by Kathy Pendegraft, Carmelita Piccardo, and the person whom on Friday I will announce is the “winner.”
